Elprint increases laminate portfolio

Standard laminates give low-priced prototype PCBs
Elprint has increased its portfolio of standard as well as high-Tg laminates. From earlier, Elprint has standardised its production at a 1.6 mm laminate thickness. Now, for single-sided, 2 and 4 layer laminates 0.8 mm thickness is also included as a standard laminate.

Elprint's advanced production process is a Multi Image Manufacturing (MIM) process and is the key reason for Elprint's low prices in the prototype area. The MIM technology makes it possible to place several different orders onto the same production panel with the result of:

  • High utilization of raw material
  • Efficient operation of production equipment and processes
  • No tooling and start-up costs
  • Fast production time

We see a solidly increasing number of designers using thinner and tighter PCB laminates in their designs. To us this has materialised in an increase of prototype orders with a thin laminate stackup. With our MIM technology we now can trim down our prices further - reducing our customers' PCB costs substantially. By using one of our standard laminates our customers will see a price reduction up to 40%. Simultaneously are we meeting a market request of a wider range of high-Tg laminates. We have now addressed both these elements where our portfolio now encompasses more than 80 different laminates and stackups, says Anders Ljunggren, VP Sales and Marketing at Elprint.
